Travel Resolution: Invest In Yourself
The new year always gives us an opportunity to start over and better ourselves by setting goals and intentions. In honor of a new decade, we are giving you our best travel goals to feel your best self throughout the journey!.
As women who travel for business, we know the feeling of isolation. We feel disconnected from family and friends and the last thing we want to do is network! However, connecting with other women will give you a sense of community. Set a goal that you will try to attend one networking event per trip!
Activity: Our favorite networking spaces are Hey Mama and The Wing! You can find them in most major US cities.
2. Move Your Body
Traveling wrecks our wellness routine. Who can blame us? When you are constantly on and off a plane…or eating room-service every evening! The key to exercising while traveling is to be prepared or else you will find every excuse under the Sun not to. Start by packing workout gear so you are prepared then book gym time or fitness classes ahead of time, that way you feel more committed!
3. It’s The Journey, Not The Destination
Simplify your journey by getting more organized! By making the journey more seamless, you’ll be a travel pro in no time. For example, do little things like getting TSA Approved because it will help you save time at the airport, for easier boarding pass access download the airline app, create a packing list that you can rely on for your business trips.
Activity: Okay, we might be biased but we swear by packing cubes! They will help you get organized and planning your travel outfits will become way easier and more fun! Check these out! We promise they will help.
4. Meditate, Mediate, Meditate
Traveling can cause a lot of anxiety and uneasiness. We find that having a routine on the road always helps us feel more grounded. Try to find a meditation studio ahead of your travels and if that doesn’t work, you can always try guided meditation audio. Comes handy on and off the plane!
Activity: Download our favorite apps: Headspace or Calm. We like to use them before or during our flight.
5. Go off-the grid
We know you might often be on a plane for work and asking you to get on one more flight might be too much but we all need a little break from time to time. Learning to take time off is essential to your mental and physical wellness. SO, we encourage you to pencil in OOO days (to make it official)…it will give you the reboot you need.
Activity: Treat yourself to a yoga retreat or escape to a city or island with little distraction. We hear El Nido, Phillipines is heaven on earth…shhh..let’s keep that a little secret.
6. Healthy work-life balance
Let this be the year that we once and for all live a more balanced life! Achieving a work-life balance can be tough but it's so necessary not only for our well-being but for those around us. Our tip is to be present. Try not to multi-task and instead focus on what's in front of you, that way you can complete your tasks without having them spill over your time with friends and family. When you're home, try to put your phone away so that you can decompress and spend real quality time with your loved ones!
Activity: Build self-trust by penciling in activities that don't involve you having a computer or phone! Go for a weekly family hike or take swimming lessons! Being more intentional will result in a balanced-work life.

Traveling for business takes a toll on us and our goal is to help you travel better this year.
